OneDrive will also stop supporting Windows 7, 8, and 8.1 after March 1st, 2022
Previously, NVIDIA announced that the new version of its graphics driver will no longer be adapted to Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 8.1. If users want to experience the optimization brought by the new version of the driver to the game, they must upgrade to Windows 10 or Windows 11. Of course, the old version of the operating system can still get updates but only security updates. It is worth noting that although Windows 7 and Windows 8 have stopped supporting, Microsoft is still providing security support for Windows 8.1. It is surprising that NVIDIA no longer supports Windows 8.1 so early.
According to an official announcement issued by Microsoft, from January 1, 2022, Windows 8.1 and earlier operating systems will no longer receive OneDrive desktop app updates. At the same time, from March 1, 2022, Windows 8.1 and earlier versions of OneDrive will no longer support cloud synchronization.
Of course, the web version of OneDrive Online can still be used, but it is limited to uploading and downloading files through the browser, such as personal folder synchronization functions are also not available. To continue to use the functionality of the OneDrive desktop app, users need to upgrade to Windows 10 at least.
