Nvidia RTX 4060 Ti 16GB will be launching on July 18th
In May of this year, NVIDIA unveiled its new generation of mainstream GPUs based on the Ada Lovelace architecture, including the GeForce RTX 4060, RTX 4060 Ti 8GB, and RTX 4060 Ti 16GB. The respective suggested retail prices are $299, $399, and $499. Of these, the GeForce RTX 4060 and RTX 4060 Ti 8GB have already been launched, while the RTX 4060 Ti 16GB is scheduled to be released this month. However, NVIDIA has yet to specify an exact date.
According to VideoCardz, NVIDIA has confirmed the release date of the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 16GB, slated for July 18. Unlike the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 8GB launched in May, the impending 16GB version will not have a Founder Edition, being entirely non-public products from NVIDIA’s partners.
Though the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 8GB has been on the retail market for some time, gamers have not shown great enthusiasm, with pricing being a significant factor. The GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 16GB has a higher price, and there are no signs that NVIDIA will adjust the pricing before its launch.
The GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 16GB is equipped with an AD106-351 GPU and utilizes a PCIe 4.0 x8 interface. The full version of the chip boasts 36 SM units, 4608 CUDA cores, 36 RT cores, and 144 Tensor cores, though the RTX 4060 Ti only activates 34 SM units, equating to 4352 CUDA cores, 34 RT cores, and 136 Tensor cores. Additionally, it features an 8th-generation NVENC encoder and a 5th-generation NVDEC decoder, supporting AV1 hardware encoding and decoding.
The new product has a base frequency of 2310 MHz and a boost frequency of 2535 MHz, paired with 16GB of GDDR6 VRAM. The memory has a 128-bit bus, a memory speed of 18Gbps, and a memory bandwidth of 288 GB/s. The total power consumption of the card is 165W, which is 5W more than the 8GB version. NVIDIA suggests that through 32MB of L2 cache, the effective memory bandwidth can be increased to 554 GB/s.
