Nvidia GeForce RTX 4080/4090 max TGP and GPU clocks specs are confirmed

NVIDIA will hold the NVIDIA GTC Conference from September 19 to 22, 2022, and there is a great opportunity to officially unveil the new generation of GPUs with Ada Lovelace architecture. As time approaches, more and more news about the GeForce RTX 4080/4090 series. According to VideoCardz, new information has been collected recently, confirming the maximum TGP and GPU clocks of the GeForce RTX 4080/4090 series.

GeForce RTX 4090 will use AD102-300 GPU with 128 SMs, that is, 16384 CUDA cores and the boost clock will reach 2520MHz. It is equipped with 24GB of GDDR6X video memory, the video memory bit width is 384 bits, and the video memory speed is 21Gbps, which means that the video memory bandwidth will exceed 1TB/s. Its default TGP is 450W, and the maximum TGP that can be set by BIOS is 660W.

Earlier reports said that the 12GB and 16GB versions of the GeForce RTX 4080 will be launched at the same time, and the relationship between the two is a bit like the GeForce GTX 1060 3GB and 6GB versions. However, it is equipped with different GPUs, and the specifications are quite different. The former is more like a GeForce RTX 4070 Ti.

GeForce RTX 4080 16GB adopts AD103-300 GPU, has 76 SMs, that is, 9728 CUDA cores, and the boost clock will reach 2505MHz. It is equipped with 16GB of GDDR6X video memory, the video memory bit width is 256 bits, and the video memory speed is 23Gbps. It is rumored that only this graphics card in the GeForce RTX 40 series uses this kind of video memory. Its default TGP is 340W, and the maximum TGP that can be set by the BIOS is 516W.

GeForce RTX 4080 12GB adopts AD104-400 GPU, has 60 SMs, that is, 7680 CUDA cores, the boost clock will reach 2610MHz, and is equipped with 12GB of GDDR6X video memory, the video memory bit width is 192 bits, and the video memory rate is 21Gbps. Its default TGP is 285W, and the maximum TGP that can be set by the BIOS is 366W.

The GeForce RTX 4090 is expected to be released in early October, and the 12GB and 16GB versions of the GeForce RTX 4080 should wait until early November, although pricing for these cards is unclear for now.
