No Man’s Sky is coming to the Mac platform
Hello Games has recently announced its intention to bring “No Man’s Sky” to the Mac platform, harnessing Apple’s MetalFX Upscaling technology.
During last year’s virtual WWDC 2022, Apple showcased the technology using CAPCOM’s AAA game title “Resident Evil 8: Village,” along with the captivating action-adventure survival game “No Man’s Sky.” These demonstrations underscored the gaming computational performance of the Metal 3 API paired with Apple Silicon processors.
In anticipation of WWDC 2023, Hello Games has announced the formal introduction of “No Man’s Sky” to Mac platforms, emphasizing that under the operation of Metal 3 API, console-level visual performance can be maintained while exploiting the low power consumption feature of Apple Silicon processors. This move is bound to encourage more industry players to bring their game creations to Mac platforms.
Furthermore, Hello Games has clarified that players who have previously purchased “No Man’s Sky” on the Steam platform will not need to repurchase the game. It will allow cross-platform connectivity and synchronization of saved content, with plans to launch on the Mac App Store in the near future.
