Recently Nintendo shared the new Ask the Developer on the official website, Toru Yamashita, deputy general manager of Nintendo’s technology development department, talked about the improvements to the Joy-Con controller in the Nintendo Switch OLED version, and introduced how to improve the controller to improve durability.

Toru Yamashita said that since the launch of Nintendo Switch, Nintendo has been investigating users’ use of Joy-Con controllers on a regular basis and making corresponding improvements, such as the materials used for buttons. After repeated reliability tests, the Joy-Con controller for the Nintendo Switch OLED version is the latest version. Although it seems that the specifications have not changed and no new features have been added, there have been many subtle adjustments. The internal parts of the Joy-Con handle also use the new version, but the player cannot see the difference in appearance.
