New Xbox firmware can shorten the boot time from 9 seconds to 4 seconds

Microsoft’s preview firmware for the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S is speeding up boot times, allowing users to quickly jump into the console after powering it on. The company executive revealed that the new firmware is expected to shorten the boot time from 9 seconds to 4 seconds, that is, it only takes 4 seconds to enter the console animation interface as soon as it is turned on. A shorter startup time allows users to reduce the anxiety of waiting. From a pure user experience point of view, shortening the startup time is naturally a very good improvement. 

“Xbox One generation consoles are booting noticeably faster with these changes,” explains Jake Rosenberg, senior product manager lead at Xbox.
