Netcraft September Web Server Ranking: Microsoft, Apache and nginx are on the top 3

Netcraft has just released a web server survey report for September 2018. The top three are still Microsoft, Apache and nginx.

As before, Apache still leads the way in domains, active sites, Web-facing computers, and millions of TOP sites, but its share has been declining for a long time.

In the web-oriented computer market, nginx is the only major web server provider to grow this month, with an increase of more than 41,000 sites (+ 2%), and its market share has risen to 27.0%, gradually opening the gap with Microsoft.

In addition to these major suppliers, the biggest gains in September were two little-known server software – Pepyaka added more than 2 million domain names, and DPS added 893,000 domain names, ranking 11th and 7th. Among them, Pepyaka is a customer site created by GoDaddy specifically for hosting with its website building tools. Pepyaka is mainly used by the Wix Web development platform on the Amazon AWS infrastructure.
