Navi 24 will be equipped with 1024 stream processors
Recently, as the lowest position and last member of the Navi 20 series GPU, Navi 24 has appeared in the AMD Linux driver. AMD has published initial open-source Linux graphics driver code for a new GPU dubbed Beige Goby. Compared with the mid-to-high-end product line, AMD’s low-end graphics cards still use a relatively old architecture.
According to Phoronix extracting the information in the driver, it is expected that Navi 24 will be equipped with 16 CUs, 1024 stream processors, 16MB infinite cache, and 1MB L2 cache, memory bit width is 64 bits, equipped with 4GB of GDDR6 memory. It was previously reported that AMD will not configure the unlimited cache for the Navi 24 core, and it seems that it will still use it. The Radeon graphics card using Navi 24 core may be Radeon RX 6500 or RX 6400 series, but it is not yet certain when AMD will release this GPU.
At present, AMD still has not launched any products using the RDNA 2 architecture on the mobile platform. Compared with its competitor, NVIDIA, it lags a lot in this area. Many users are still waiting for AMD’s products. In the low-end graphics card market for mobile platforms, there is not much choice, and the models are relatively old and urgently need to be updated.
