MSI expands MAG GL series power supply product line
Last year, MSI introduced the new MAG GL series power supplies, embracing the ATX 3.0 and PCIe 5.0 standards, with the initial lineup featuring the MAG A850GL PCIE5, MAG A750GL PCIE5, and MAG A650GL products. These units boast a native 12VHPWR connector supporting a 600W power output, and feature MSI’s patented dual-tone design in yellow and black, aiding users in correctly identifying and inserting the connectors.
This year, MSI has expanded the MAG GL series with the addition of the MAG A1250GL PCIE5 and MAG A1000GL PCIE5, higher-rated power supplies supporting the ATX 3.1 and PCIe 5.1 standards, and certified with the 80PLUS Gold rating.
With the increase in power, the dimensions of the new power supplies have also grown from 150 x 140 x 86 mm to 150 x 150 x 86 mm. They employ a full-bridge LLC resonant and DC-DC structure, incorporating a suite of circuit protection features to ensure the safe operation of hardware. These include Over Current Protection (OCP), Over Voltage Protection (OVP), Short Circuit Protection (SCP), Under Voltage Protection (UVP), Over Power Protection (OPP), and Over Temperature Protection (OTP). The equipped FDB (Fluid Dynamic Bearing) fan has been upgraded from 120mm to 135mm, achieving an optimal balance between cooling performance and noise level.
The power supplies feature a modular design with flat cables, simplifying cable management for users while allowing more space inside for better airflow and enhanced cooling within the case. Additionally, the native 12VHPWR connector has been upgraded to the 12V-2×6 standard, continuing the distinctive yellow and black dual-tone design.
