Mozilla uses the new style Firefox logo in Firefox 70
Mozilla has just released the latest nightly build version of its Firefox browser and is the first to enable a new logo. The new logo is more stylized, and the physical characteristics of the fox, which is a mascot, become flattered and more abstract. Even so, new and old users can still recognize it as the original Firefox. In addition, Mozilla removes the word “Quantum” from the Firefox software name.
It is reported that the new icon was first enabled on the Firefox Nightly 70 version launched last weekend. The nightly build is for those who want to test the latest features but can endure unexpected crashes or other problems. According to the Mozilla arrangement, Firefox will test the latest features in Nightly, turn to the beta channel in a few weeks, and finally a stable version for the general public.
Firefox Nightly’s new logo continues the classic blue-violet color scheme. In Firefox Beta and the stable version, Mozilla is still using familiar red, orange, and yellow colors, and the changes in the old and new logos are not hard to know.
Mozilla started to use the word “Quantum” in Firefox 57, released in November 2017. However, starting with the recently updated Firefox 70, the about option will only display “Firefox browser” instead of “Firefox Quantum”.
