Microsoft will launch Azure-powered Cloud PC service in 2021
According to information published by Microsoft on its recruitment website, the company plans to launch a Cloud PC desktop-as-a-service based on Microsoft Azure in 2021.
Cloud PC mainly installs virtual machines in Microsoft’s cloud data center and then provides enterprises and organizations with accounts to easily connect to the virtual machines through remote desktop services.
Work content and confidential information are all stored in remote virtual machines. The physical machines used by enterprises and organizations are actually only used for remote desktops.
But what is the difference between this and Microsoft’s previous virtual desktop service? Essentially, Cloud PC does not seem to be much different from Microsoft’s virtual desktop service.
Judging from the recruitment information released by Microsoft, the upcoming Cloud PC emphasizes desktop as a service, mainly to provide productivity suites for enterprises and organizations.
Microsoft said that Cloud PC is the company’s strategic product, based on virtual desktop services to provide Desktop as a Service.
On these cloud hosts, Microsoft mainly provides the Microsoft Office 365 suite, and enterprises can directly use these productivity tools on the cloud hosts.
Microsoft said that the core of the service is to provide modern, flexible, and cloud experiences for business customers, allowing enterprises to stay up-to-date in a simpler and scalable way. Learn more about Windows Virtual Desktop and Azure Windows Virtual Desktop Pricing.
