Microsoft will install Bing search extension by default with Office 365 ProPlus users
According to official Microsoft news, the company expects to bundle Microsoft Bing search by default in Office 365 ProPlus, the professional enhanced version that will be launched next month.
For example, if a user uses Google Chrome, Microsoft will automatically install the Bing search extension. Clicking on the extension will immediately call Bing for content search.
“By making Bing the default search engine, users in your organization with Google Chrome will be able to take advantage of Microsoft Search, including being able to access relevant workplace information directly from the browser address bar,” Microsoft said in a support document.
Of course, Microsoft also provides a guide in the technical blog to uninstall the Bing search extension. Although only the Google Chrome plug-in cannot be uninstalled directly by removing the plug-in, subsequent updates will continue to reinstall the plug-in.
If you don’t need it, you need to execute the command in the administrator mode of PowerShell/CMD, and you can successfully uninstall the plug-in directly through this command.
