Microsoft will bring vertical tabs to Microsoft Edge to help users easily manage tabs
Most browser tabs are arranged horizontally at the top of the browser. Of course, this design will not cause problems for most users.
But what if users open dozens or even hundreds of tabs at a time? It’s really hard to switch between these tabs or find the one you want. Microsoft is going to use the vertical tab function to solve this problem. This is not an original Microsoft solution, but it is really good for users.
The so-called vertical tab is actually a new position added by Microsoft on the left side of the Microsoft Edge browser to arrange the page titles of all currently open tabs.
If the user opens a large number of tabs, you can quickly browse the tabs through this function. You don’t need to switch tabs to the top to find them.
Of course, after displaying the tab page on the left, it will occupy the screen position and cause the page display size to be slightly smaller, so Microsoft does not turn on this feature by default. When the user needs it, the user can click the icon of the vertical tab page to call up the vertical tab page.
Microsoft writes:
Today we announced vertical tabs, a feature that helps you easily find and manage many open tabs at once. Microsoft Edge is the only browser that allows you to manage your tabs on the side with a single click. Vertical tabs is expected in the Insider channels in the next few months.
