Microsoft starts testing new Windows 11 features

Some time ago, Microsoft introduced a test plan for Windows 11 in 2022. In the future, Microsoft will push new features to testers more widely, including some experimental features of Windows 11, in order to get a more improved experience from it. Of course, some features may not end up in the official version.

Recently, Twitter user @thebookisclosed shared several new Windows 11 features online, including personalized desktop stickers and automatic hiding of the taskbar in tablet mode, but Microsoft has not made it public yet. Microsoft is currently preparing the first major update of Windows 11, and the first users are expected to receive the push this month. It is not known if these features will be on it.

Personalized desktop stickers are a very interesting feature, users can use a new sticker editor to make their own stickers, add them to the desktop wallpaper, and edit them on the desktop. The specific operation of the sticker is not yet clear, and the Office team is rumored to be involved. Microsoft is currently pushing Windows 11 SE to new low-cost laptops used by students, and this feature may be part of Windows 11 SE, or it may also appear in the Windows 11 version that is mainly used by ordinary users.

Microsoft eschews most of the features of traditional tablet mode in Windows 11, however, Microsoft has accumulated a large number of gesture operations and system display mode designs in the canceled Windows 10X project and dual-screen tablet device plan. The automatic hiding of the taskbar in tablet mode may be a regression, and more functions and operations suitable for tablet use may be introduced in the future.
