Microsoft solves an issue with AMD processors from receiving the new Windows 10 build
Previously, we have reported that due to Microsoft’s mistakes, that prevented some AMD and Intel devices from detecting the new Windows 10 build.
There is a problem in the current beta version that causes AMD platform users to directly check for updates and will not receive the new version.
In the latest development preview version, Microsoft has not actually solved the problem, but the company has provided temporary solutions to allow users to upgrade to the new version.
Therefore, AMD platform users need to delete the local cache according to the temporary solution provided by Microsoft. After deletion, they can receive the latest development preview version.
This issue has been resolved on the backend. If you were impacted, please follow these steps:
- Open the Start Menu.
- In the search box, type CMD.exe.
- On the right menu under Command Prompt, select Run as administrator.
- If prompted by UAC, choose Yes.
- From the elevated prompt, enter this command, then hit enter: net stop wuauserv
- Enter this command, then hit enter: rmdir /s /q C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\SLS
- Finally, enter this command, then hit enter: net start wuauserv
- Close the Command Prompt window.
- Open Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and check for updates.
You should now see Build 20175 is available.
