Microsoft began to separate Windows 10 search function with Cortana
Microsoft will ultimately separate the system global search function from Microsoft Cortana in Windows 10 Version 1903. Currently, in Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 18277 you can already found that the search box is more focused on the search function.
In 19H1, Microsoft is planning to separate Windows Search from Cortana, a smart decision in my opinion. Here's a small preview: pic.twitter.com/1TZvQFNInV

When you click the search box, the most recent activity of the timeline record is displayed by default, and then you can see the app, document, and mail search functions at the top.
All searches are globally searching for all associated files, while applications and documents are only searching for related applications of specific categories or document files.
Compared with the current version, clicking on the search box no longer pops up Microsoft Cortana dialogue style, and no longer recommends to you any new movies that have to be released recently.
If the user wants to use Microsoft Cortana, you can only click the microphone button on the right side of the search box, and the original Cortana dialog box will pop up after clicking the microphone.
Of course, the separation here is only the adjustment in the beta version, because, after the departure of Microsoft Cortana and the search box, an icon will be added to the taskbar for easy use.
