Microsoft renamed the Windows 10 screenshot tool to Snip & Sketch

In the Windows 10 Insider Preview (Build 17704) released in June this year, Microsoft introduced the first screen capture tool called “Screen Sketch”. It is designed to replace the old “Snipping Tool” with more features and other improvements. However, in a recent update to the Insider tester, Microsoft renamed it “Snip & Sketch” and added new screen capture options.

The version number of the “Snip & Sketch” screenshot tool has been upgraded to 10.1807.2286.0 (the application name shown on the original title bar is “Screen Sketch”), and three modes are provided below the “New” tab – immediate screenshot, wait 3 seconds, or a delay of 10 seconds.

It should be pointed out that the delay screen capture function will not give a countdown prompt, so you can only silently count the seconds in your heart, otherwise, it is difficult to get it on time. Of course, Microsoft may introduce new features in subsequent updates.

It’s important to note that these changes are currently only open to Insider testers who have turned on the Skip Ahead update channel. When the official version arrives, its functionality should be complete

If you can’t wait to get a taste of it, you can join the Windows 10 Insider project and get and try out new features through the Microsoft Store.
