Microsoft released emergency security update KB4551762 to fix wormable vulnerability in SMBv3
Yesterday, we mentioned that there is a new wormable Vulnerability in SMBv3. The SMBv3 protocol vulnerability numbered CVE-2020-0796 was also disclosed by Microsoft at the same time. This protocol is widely used and is therefore very vulnerable to Windows 10 users.
The shocking thing is that Microsoft did not fix the vulnerability in the cumulative update while it disclosed the vulnerability, which means that there are no patches available to fix the vulnerability.
Under normal circumstances, Microsoft should release the vulnerability information at the same time as the security update is released, but yesterday, Microsoft only announced the vulnerability but did not fix the vulnerability for some reason.
Given that this vulnerability is extremely harmful, all major security companies and researchers around the world are discussing and responding to it. The easiest way is to disable the SMBv3 port directly.
Fortunately, Microsoft released an emergency security update KB4551762 to fix the vulnerability one day after streaking. Now all home and business users should install this update.
