Microsoft pushes feature experience package to Windows 10 Insiders in the Beta Channel
Microsoft quietly launched the Windows Feature Experience Pack before, but no one knew what it was at the beginning. However, we guessed at the time that the feature experience package might be an update package for the front-end interface, which allows Microsoft to release features to users through the Microsoft Store at any time.
Later, Microsoft also released a description of the feature experience package. Simply put, the feature experience package is to separate the operating system functions and product updates and push them through the Microsoft Store.
That is to say, when Microsoft needs to add or update certain functions, there is no need to update through major versions, and the update can be completed directly through the feature experience package.
Microsoft has released multiple updates to the Feature Experience Pack through the Microsoft Store, but most of the previous updates were just a version number and did not bring actual functional changes.
It was not until the end of last year that Microsoft released a functional experience package to improve the screenshot function, and today Microsoft released the second version with actual functions.
According to Microsoft’s instructions, this update is mainly based on user feedback to improve the screenshot function. When we complete the screenshot, the image will be automatically saved to the file manager.
In fact, the screenshot function previously supported this feature but was canceled by Microsoft. After much user feedback, Microsoft finally felt that it was necessary to provide this feature.
So now the screenshot function can be automatically saved to the file explorer after the screenshot is completed, without the need for the user to manually save as or manually paste.
The version number of the functional experience package launched this time is Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.2020.0, which is currently only available to users of the Windows 10 Beta channel.
It will also be pushed to the stable version channel after Microsoft’s testing is completed, but there is no updated timetable for the functional experience package, and when the new version is pushed depends entirely on Microsoft.
For users, the app on the Microsoft Store is automatically updated by default, so if there is a new version of the functional experience package, it will be automatically downloaded and installed without intervention.
