Code.org is a non-profit organization that aims to allow more schools to offer courses in computer science education. The ultimate vision is that every student in every school has the opportunity to learn computer science, just like learning mathematics. Code.org’s main sponsors include Amazon, Facebook, Google, the Infosys Foundation, and Microsoft.

Microsoft previously conducted a survey of K-12 teachers in the United States with YouGov. It found that 83% of teachers believe that coding can foster students’ creativity, but due to funding and curriculum settings, a large number of students do not have access to computer science. The capital injection will help Code.org to operate until 2020.
