Microsoft plans to redesign the Windows 10 icon
Microsoft seems to be planning to implement a comprehensive reform of the Windows 10 icon after the Office suite. Recently, the software giant announced the new icon design for Office 365 and revealed some Windows adjustments under consideration. “It is a huge undertaking to build a common system and design 10 icons at the same time. Now that we have established the system we will start to scale it across all of Microsoft,” explains Jon Friedman, head of Office design at Microsoft.
In addition, Friedman also revealed that their efforts at Office are just part of the cross-company effort to upgrade all icons to the same style.
Although Microsoft has been working hard to adjust the design of its Windows, especially in the operating system, users still see some old icons in the system, obviously, they look very unsuitable. Now, the company is beginning to focus on unifying the icons of the entire company’s software products, and this may be an action needed to clear old icons.
