Microsoft no longer develops Dynamic Disks feature
Dynamic disk is also a technology developed by Microsoft in the Windows 2000 era. This function aims to integrate multiple disk spaces across the continuous space of a basic disk.
Usually, the dynamic disk technology is mainly used by enterprises and server systems, and ordinary consumers should not use the dynamic disk technology to manage a large number of hard disks and space.
The advantage of the dynamic disk is that it can connect multiple hard disks and space and has fault tolerance, which can be used to deal with the risk of data loss caused by the damage of a certain hard disk.
Why should Microsoft stop developing such an excellent function? Because Microsoft has developed more storage spaces and storage pool functions in the Windows 8 era.
In the latest release of Windows 10 Version 2004, Microsoft announced that it will abandon the dynamic disk technology and will no longer develop this technology in the future.
Of course, enterprise users don’t need to worry because the dynamic disks feature is no longer being developed. It does not mean that dynamic disks can no longer be used.
Therefore, you can continue to use the dynamic disk technology in the latest version of Windows 10 and Windows Server version 2004 without worry.
Features that are routinely announced as deprecated will usually be removed from subsequent new versions of Windows 10 within 1 to 2 years, so companies should also be prepared to update.
That is to replace the dynamic disk technology with the storage space and storage pool functions. Both the storage space and the storage pool are features that Microsoft is actively developing and have better performance.
