Microsoft may launch an Xbox Game Pass Family Plan this year

Microsoft takes Xbox Game Pass very seriously, and whenever the right opportunity arises, it promotes and advertises it as much as possible. After players subscribe to the service, they can choose their favorite games from the huge game library to play. The latest first-party games like Halo Infinite or Forza Horizon 5 are included.

Xbox Game Pass Family Plan

According to WindowsCentral, Microsoft appears to be looking for the right opportunity to further expand Xbox Game Pass.

Microsoft is said to be considering an Xbox Game Pass Family Plan some time this year, which provides access to Xbox Game Pass for five players, and the price will be lower than the cost of a separate account, provided those players reside in the same country or region as the primary account owner. Microsoft will integrate its family account system, which is also used in the Microsoft 365 Family subscription service.

It is understood that Microsoft has been thinking about this for a long time, but there are still some details to be figured out, such as the distribution of royalties, and how third-party licenses will compensate users who do not do so. It’s not certain whether PC Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass will have separate family plans, or both will be exclusive to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, which is still to be confirmed. Regardless, Microsoft will be pushing hard for the Xbox Game Pass family plan.

Sony has just announced plans code-named Spartacus, a new tiered subscription service for PlayStation Plus that will launch in June as a competitor to Xbox Game Pass. But Sony has a lot more work to do than Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass.
