Microsoft is introducing the Windows 11 Snap Groups to Alt+Tab and Task View
In the Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 22494 released yesterday, Microsoft introduced the snap groups to Alt+Tab and task view settings based on user feedback.
The snap groups function is a key function of the Windows 11 system, through which users can quickly adjust the size of the window layout to display multiple windows side by side.
The Alt+Tab shortcut key combination is used to switch the currently opened windows, and the task view can create multiple desktops and workspaces to assign different tasks.
In the new development version, Microsoft directly integrates the snap groups function into Alt+Tab and task view, which allows users to quickly switch all open windows.
Since this feature is currently only available in the development version and is only tested for a small number of users, it is not easy to understand the change without actual experience.
To understand this function, we first need to explain the snap groups function. In Windows 11, hovering the mouse over the maximize button of the window will display the layout.
When the user clicks on snap groups, other open windows will be arranged side by side with it, so you can use multiple software at the same time to improve work efficiency.
If you want to display the windows side by side before, you have to adjust the window size one by one. If there are many windows side by side, it will take time to adjust the size.
The significance of the snap groups function is that the windows can be displayed side by side quickly, and you can adjust the arrangement method at any time to save time through the snap groups function.
Although this function is more practical for some users, it may cause trouble if you have used Alt+Tab to switch windows quickly.
Because this may prevent your window switching from being completed in a very short time, so if you don’t need to use this function, you can directly disable this function.
If you need to disable this feature, please go to Settings, System, Multitasking, and uncheck the third option “Show snap layouts that the app is part of when I hover over the taskbar button when I press Alt+Tab and in Task View”.
