Microsoft hires former Apple executive as head of Microsoft hardware design and technology
Former Apple executive Ruben Caballero has now joined Microsoft, and Ruben will serve as vice president of engineering at Microsoft and lead the hardware product team. Ruben has been working at Apple for 14 years and the last position is vice president of engineering. At the same time, Ruben is also one of the founding leaders of the iPhone hardware team. At Apple, Ruben was mainly responsible for the wireless technology of iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Mac, Apple TV, Airport equipment and other hardware products of Apple.
After joining Microsoft, Ruben’s current position is the vice president of engineering in the mixed reality and AI department, mainly responsible for leading the team to hardware design and technical solutions. Ruben should not be responsible for Microsoft Surface series devices. Ruben is mainly involved in Microsoft Hololens and Microsoft’s future hardware devices.
