Earlier, Microsoft released a support document saying that due to compatibility issues with the IE11 browser, some users who still use the IE browser will not be able to receive pushes from the Windows 11 system. The problem that arises this time is also very simple, if users do not agree to import all data of the IE11 browser into the Microsoft Edge browser before upgrading to Windows 11, they will not be able to access the data saved in the IE11 browser after the upgrade. Why can’t it be accessed? Because Windows 11 does not have the IE browser pre-installed at all, it means that the data is gone.
Microsoft writes:
After upgrading to Windows 11, saved information and data from Internet Explorer 11 (IE11) might not be accessible if you did not accept to import it into Microsoft Edge before the upgrade. Note: If you have accepted to import your IE11 information and data into Microsoft Edge in Windows 10 before upgrading to Windows 11, your device should not be affected by this issue.
In view of the problems that may lead to the loss of user data, Microsoft directly prevents users who do not agree to migrate data from upgrading to the Windows 11 system. Now that this problem has been fixed, users need to update the Microsoft Edge browser to v99.0+ before upgrading. Of course, it is also possible to migrate IE data to Chrome or Firefox, as long as the data is not lost.
