Microsoft is developing some new features and improvements for the Microsoft Edge browser, which uses the same Chromium code as Google Chrome, Opera, and Brave. Because the browser uses the same underlying code as Chrome, Microsoft can ultimately focus on adding unique features to Edge.
Microsoft is also contributing to the open-source Chromium project, Microsoft Edge engineers submitted more than 1,600 codes in 2019. Some of these contributions include smooth scrolling, improved PWAs support, accessibility, ARM64 support, better performance, and more.
