Microsoft confirms that Office UWP version will still support tablet after 2021
Earlier, Microsoft officially notifies to end of support for Office for Windows 10 Mobile in 2021, but it will continue to work normally. It is only after the end of the life cycle that Microsoft will no longer provide security updates to fix vulnerabilities, so even users using this software may have security risks. This is actually Office UWP for Windows 10 Mobile, which can be installed and used on tablets and Microsoft smartphones. Windows 10 Mobile has ended its support and has gone into history, so it is not unexpected that Microsoft stopped changing the software on this platform.
Many Windows 10 tablet users are worried after the support announcement, as these users also install and use the Office UWP version. These tablet PC users may need to install the desktop version or use the web version if support is discontinued, but Microsoft has issued a clarification announcement on the issue. Microsoft said it will stop supporting Office for Windows 10 Mobile in 2021, but this will not affect tablet users’ continued use of Office. Microsoft will continue to provide support for the Office UWP version, but components on the Windows 10 Mobile platform will no longer receive Microsoft security updates. And on tablets, you can continue to get security updates or new versions released by Microsoft, so Microsoft issued a clarification announcement to keep these users from worrying.
