Microsoft confirms external display bug in Windows 10 version 2004
According to the official support document released by Microsoft, in Windows 10 Version 2004, the company has confirmed a problem that caused the display to turn black.
Relatively speaking, this problem may not affect many users, because the external display may appear black only in certain usage scenarios.
Microsoft said that the problem is not a software or hardware problem. The company is currently investigating the cause and preparing to release a cumulative update fix later.
When users use devices with internal displays such as laptops and tablets and upgrade Windows 10 Version 2004 version to connect the display.
The display mode of the external display is set to copy the main screen. Normally, using this mode will not affect the normal copy of the display content of the external monitor.
However, when the user uses an application with a drawing function such as Microsoft Office or Microsoft Whiteboard, etc., a black screen appears on the display.
The black screen appears only on the external monitor and the internal screen will display normally. Microsoft emphasizes that software with basic drawing functions may be blacked out in this scenario.
If the user enters the device manager, a yellow exclamation mark will appear next to the graphics controller.
Users who see the yellow exclamation mark do not need to uninstall the device or driver to reinstall, because even reinstalling the device and driver cannot be repaired.
