Microsoft announces the launch of Windows Server 2022 to provide innovations in security/hybrid/container
Microsoft quietly released the Windows Server 2022 ISO image on MSDN platforms. Although the iso image file has been released, Microsoft has not disclosed it publicly.
It is only now that Microsoft has announced on its blog that Windows Server 2022 will be fully available, the system provides innovative technologies in security, hybrid, and container.
With this operating system, customers can continue to run workloads safely and enable a new hybrid cloud architecture to modernize applications to meet business needs.
Windows Server 2022 is a long-term service version that provides 10 years of support. The version name is Windows Server 2022 without the LTSC suffix.
Security has always been the cornerstone of Windows Server. Based on security considerations, Microsoft has added a variety of security enhancements to Windows Server 2022.
In this version, customers can take advantage of the multi-layered security of secure core servers and secure connections, and deploy multiple defense technologies to ensure safe and stable business operations.
The secure core server means that Microsoft’s hardware partners can provide hardware, firmware, and drivers to help customers enhance the security of critical systems.
This also allows IT and security teams to obtain extensive security through advanced protection and defense technologies across the hardware, firmware, and virtualization layers of Secured-core servers.
The secure connection in Windows Server 2022 can provide additional security for the transmission process, including enabling TLS 1.3 and HTTP/QUIC by default.
More and more companies are choosing hybrid and multi-cloud solutions to digitally transform their businesses. Now customers can accelerate this process by connecting to Azure.
Microsoft Azure Arc can use the local Windows Server 2022 to provide cloud services, helping enterprises to go to the cloud faster to obtain advanced technology.
In addition, in Windows Server 2022, customers can use file server enhancements such as SMB compression to improve application data transmission.
The favorite tool for administrators, Windows Admin Center, brings a modern server management experience, such as providing new thing viewers and proxy support.
Upgrading Windows Server 2022 can take advantage of scalability improvements, such as support for 48TB of memory and 2048 logical cores running on 64 physical sockets.
In this version, customers can also take advantage of container improvements, such as Windows Server 2022 to improve container application compatibility and support IPv6 dual-stack technology.
In addition, Microsoft will continue to work with the Kubernetes community to enable Windows Server 2022 container support and introduce new features to the Microsoft cloud platform.
