Microsoft announces open source ElectionGuard to makes voting more secure, transparent, accessible
Microsoft released an open-source software called EngectionGuard on GitHub and said that the software has been integrated into the US voting system. As early as July this year, Microsoft has publicly demonstrated the ElectionGuard software to protect electronic voting systems from hackers.
Microsoft said the software makes the electronic voting system more secure as concerns about cyber attacks escalate. In the past year. Microsoft said in July that the main purpose of these cyber attacks was to obtain information and interfere with voters.
ElectionGuard allows people to vote directly on the screen, get tracking code to confirm that their votes have been counted and not changed, and then get the actual print confirmation.
