Microsoft Announces Abandoning Updates for Office Mobile Developed for Tablet PCs
Previously, during the promotion of Windows 10 tablets by Microsoft, the UWP version of the Office Mobile application was developed specifically for such devices.
But as you know, Windows 10 tablets have not developed smoothly, so Microsoft has decided not to provide update support for this program.
Microsoft said the company would continue to focus on providing better Office Mobile applications for iOS and Android, and the above platform users will not be affected.
Of course, it also shows that Microsoft is no longer focusing on the Windows 10 tablet mode, and there is data showing that the market share of such tablets is meager.
Microsoft hopes that users can use the iOS or Android version of the tablet, which can continue to use the updated Office Mobile version.
What’s interesting is that although the Office Mobile UWP version has been cut, the OneNote app will survive the feature update.
As for why Microsoft will do this, there is no definite news yet. MSPU said that this might be related to the Andromeda system that Microsoft is secretly developing.
