Microsoft announces 30-month security support for Windows 10 20H2 Enterprise/Education Edition
Under normal circumstances, Microsoft provides 18 months of support for Windows 10 version updates, that is, Microsoft will no longer provide features or security updates 18 months after the release.
The Enterprise Edition and Education Edition, which are suitable for enterprises and educational institutions, have additional extended support. Normally, the period of such additional extended support is up to one year.
In other words, the support period for enterprise and education editions can reach 30 months, and the latest version of Windows 10 20H2 released by Microsoft also provides 30 months of support.
At present, Microsoft has released a list of related support information on the Windows blog, but the 20H2 description has not been added to the official Microsoft life cycle list.
Under normal circumstances, the support period for Windows 10 Home Edition, Home China Edition, Professional Edition, and Professional Workstation Edition will only end after 18 months.
The Enterprise Edition and Education Edition can receive an additional 12 months of support on the basis of the 18-month support period, which is a 30-month support period of 2.5 years.
It should be noted that the education version here refers to the education version of the volume authorization channel. The full support period of the education version based on the retail channel is still only 18 months.
