Microsoft adds ads to Outlook mobile app
Previously, Microsoft had added advertisements to the mail app that came with Windows 10, because it has been criticized by many users, Microsoft said that the test has been withdrawn. But this time, the newly added ad content is no longer a test but a regular delivery, and Microsoft has begun to add new ads to Outlook mobile app.
This part of the advertisement content is delivered in the style of native email, only the advertisement logo will be displayed in the upper right corner, and if the user clicks, it will jump to the target website. If the user swipes to cancel the ad, the ad will reappear a little later. If you want to avoid the ad, you can only subscribe to Microsoft 365 for a fee.
At present, U.S. technology companies are suffering from financial crises brought about by the economic slowdown. As a supergiant, Microsoft is also facing a decline in performance in all aspects. This wave of advertisements in Outlook has been officially confirmed by Microsoft. Microsoft said that for free users, the advertisement content will be displayed at the top of the user’s inbox.
“For free users of Outlook, ads are shown in their inbox and they can choose to enable the ‘Focused inbox’ feature if they would like to see ads only in the ‘Other’ inbox,” Microsoft spokesperson Caitlin Roulston told The Verge.
