Meta cuts the Quest Pro’s price

Quest Pro is a high-end VR headset released by Meta in October last year. It is aimed at business users and creators. Because it has much more functions than Quest 2, the initial price is also very high, which is $1499.99. However, just three months after its release, Meta gave it a considerable limited-time discount, and Quest Pro is currently priced at $1,099.99 in the United States.

The price cut of $400 can be said to be quite large. You must know that the current price of Quest 2 is only $399.99. If users wait and see until now, they can buy all of Meta’s VR headsets at the original price of $1499.99.

Of course, this price cut does not mean that the hardware quality of Quest Pro is very bad. It is equipped with a thinner and lighter Pancake lens and has eye tracking and color perspective functions. The Touch handle has also been greatly upgraded, and it is still very competitive among VR headsets.

When it comes to competition, this price cut has the meaning of attacking HTC’s newly released VIVE XR Elite. Released at CES 2023, VIVE XR Elite also features a lightweight hardware design. It uses a Pancake lens and uses a camera and a depth sensor to achieve better color perspective. However, the VIVE XR Elite does not support eye-tracking and requires additional purchase of corresponding accessories. What’s more, the headset will start at $1,099.99.
