Although WiFi 6 has been on the market for more than 2 years, many mobile phones, tablets, computer network cards, notebooks, and other devices have been equipped with WiFi 6, but the popularity is still relatively low, and many people around them are still using the older generation of WiFi standards. But at this time, the WiFi 7 standard has already appeared.
Recently, MediaTek directly launched the world’s first WiFi 7 technology. According to the official release, this time, two key Wi-Fi 7 technologies were shown to industry partners and customers, demonstrating the excellent speed and ultra-low latency of Wi-Fi 7 technology.

“The rollout of Wi-Fi 7 will mark the first time that Wi-Fi can be a true wireline/Ethernet replacement for super high-bandwidth applications,” said Alan Hsu, corporate vice president and general manager of the Intelligent Connectivity business at MediaTek. “MediaTek’s Wi-Fi 7 technology will be the backbone of home, office and industrial networks and provide seamless connectivity for everything from multi-player AR/VR applications to cloud gaming and 4K calls to 8K streaming and beyond.”
How fast is WiFi 7? What it excels at is that it provides brand new capabilities for all available Wi-Fi spectrum, including 2.4GHz, 5GHz, and 6GHz. It is understood that WiFi 7 can be 2.4 times faster than WiFi 6, and even with the same number of antennas, WiFi 7 can also gain advantages through 4K Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (QAM) technology.
MediaTek became one of the first companies to adopt Wi-Fi 7, and they also said that MediaTek products equipped with the WiFi 7 standard will be launched in 2023.
