MediaTek released the T830 5G platform, and the smart TV chip Pentonic 700
MediaTek announced the launch of the T830 5G platform. The platform is equipped with an M80 modem, supports 3GPP R16 standard and Sub-6GHz full-band network, and is suitable for 5G fixed wireless access (FWA) and mobile hotspot CPE equipment.
The T830 5G platform belongs to SoC and adopts Arm Cortex-A55 quad-core CPU, as well as a Sub-6GHz full-band RF transceiver, GNSS receiver, and power management system. The built-in hardware-level network acceleration engine and Wi-Fi network acceleration engine provide gigabit-level throughput performance for 5G cellular network transmission to Ethernet or Wi-Fi without increasing CPU load. In addition, the platform also supports MediaTek 5G UltraSave power-saving technology, which not only reduces the power consumption of 5G communication but also provides an efficient communication solution.
Vendors can combine the T830 with MediaTek‘s Wi-Fi 7 wireless connectivity solution, giving the platform the advanced features of Wi-Fi 7, such as MLO Multi-Link Operation and 320MHz wide channel support.
In addition, MediaTek also released a new 4K@120Hz smart TV chip Pentonic 700, which integrates a 4K 120Hz motion compensation engine (MEMC), TCON, and game optimization. It can also adapt to a variable refresh rate (VRR) of 144Hz and provides support for HDMI 2.1 Automatic Low Latency Mode (ALLM) and Dolby Vision IQ.
The Pentonic 700 integrates an AI processing unit (APU) that supports MediaTek’s AI-Super Resolution, AI-Picture Quality (AI-PQ) scene recognition, and object recognition technologies for better image quality. Through PBP and PIP functions, users can display different content at the same time, providing more possibilities for daily applications.
Like the Pentonic 2000, the 8K flagship smart TV chip launched last year, the Pentonic 700 supports MEMC, AV1, AVS3 decoding, and VVC (H.266) decoding, with leading technology and wide applicability.
