MediaTek launches Filic 880 and Filic 380 Wi-Fi 7 platform solutions

In response to the Wi-Fi 7 wireless network connection requirements, MediaTek launched its first Wi-Fi 7 wireless networking platform, the Filogic 880, and the Filogic 380. In this way, it corresponds to the design of connection applications such as high bandwidth in the telecom, retail, commercial, and consumer electronics markets.

Filogic 880 is a combination of Wi-Fi 7 wireless router design, mainly for the needs of routers and gateways for telecom operators, retailers, and commercial market applications. It adopts a scalable architecture design, supports five-band 4×4 MIMO technology, and the network transmission rate can reach up to 36Gbps. The Filogic 380 is also built with Wi-Fi 7 technical specifications, mainly for the connection needs of smartphones, tablets, TVs, notebook computers, set-top boxes, and OTT devices.

Among them, the Filic 880 is built on a 6nm process. In addition to being equipped with Wi-Fi 7 connection specifications, it is also equipped with a quad-core Arm Cortex-A73 CPU, and through the network processing unit to improve the Wi-Fi and Ethernet connection packet transmission processing capabilities, and support a complete connection interface and external connection capabilities. The main features are as follows:

MediaTek Filogic 880 Wi-Fi 7 platform

  • Support for key Wi-Fi 7 technologies such as 4096-QAM, 320MHz, MRU and MLO
  • Flexibility to scale to penta-band 36Gbps speeds
  • Support up to 10Gbps in one channel
  • Support for OFDMA RU, MU-MIMO and MBSSID
  • An advanced hardware network full off-load engine on both Wi-Fi and Ethernet interface
  • A built-in networking crypto engine (EIP-197) for accelerating IPSec, SSL/TLS, DTLS (CAPWAP), SRTP and MACsec
  • Support for high-speed interfaces (5Gbps USB and 10Gbps PCI-Express), UART, SD, SPI, PWM, GPIO, and OTP for rich platform customization opportunities
The Filogic 380 is designed to integrate Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.3 and is also built on a 6nm process. The main features are as follows:
