Lenovo showcases the ThinkPad X1 Fold with Windows 10 operating system
Lenovo released the first ThinkPad X1 Fold notebook computer with a flexible foldable screen at the CES 2020 conference in January this year. At the time, they said that the system installed on the ThinkPad X1 Fold would be the Windows 10X version instead of the ordinary Windows 10 system.
But unfortunately, not long ago, Microsoft’s Windows and device chief product officer, Panos Panay announced that Microsoft’s business focus this year will be shifted to single-screen Windows 10X devices instead of the previously announced dual-screen Windows 10X devices, at the same time, the Windows 10X system is estimated to be released as soon as next year, which means that the launch plan of the ThinkPad X1 Fold equipped with a folding screen may be affected.
Fortunately, Lenovo did not put all the eggs in a basket. Their latest product video shows that they have replaced the ThinkPad X1 Fold with a normal version of Windows 10 system. In this case, we should be able to do it by the end of this year. You can see this amazing device on the market, of course, the price is certainly amazing.
The ThinkPad X1 Fold is equipped with a foldable 13.3-inch 2K pOLED display with an aspect ratio of 4: 3, a stand, docking station, and a dedicated Bluetooth keyboard that can be fixed magnetically and can be wirelessly charged. This Bluetooth keyboard can be transformed into an ordinary laptop when connected to the ThinkPad X1 Fold. When the keyboard is removed, the ThinkPad X1 Fold will become a tablet, and the tablet can be folded in half.
This new type of laptop is constructed of lightweight alloy and carbon fiber, using Intel Core series processors, up to 8GB of LPDDR4X memory, and a frequency of 4267MHz, while the solid-state drive can be equipped with 1TB of PCIe NVMe 2242 SSD.
Other configuration aspects: integrated 5MP HD RGB camera and a dedicated IR camera for facial recognition, stereo speakers using Dolby sound technology and 50W battery support fast charging, etc.
In addition, this laptop also has a SIM card slot to support 5G or LTE network, the specific time to market is temporarily undecided, but the price has been announced by Lenovo is $2499.
