Leaked: Intel Core i7-14700K tested in Cinebench and CPU-Z

Earlier reports suggested the mid-October release of Intel’s 14th-generation Core desktop processors. As the anticipated date approaches, tidbits about the 14th Gen Core keep emerging. According to Videocardz, a netizen claims to have benchmarked the yet-to-be-announced Intel Core i7-14700K processor, revealing its CPU-Z and Cinebench R23 scores.

Judging from the disclosed images, this processor remains unidentified by any software, merely recognized as Raptor Lake HX/S, the code name for the Intel 14th Gen Core series. The information presented on the CPU-Z page within the image suggests that this CPU can reach a top frequency of 5.5 GHz, surpassing its predecessor, the i7-13700K, by a modest 100MHz. Moreover, the alleged performance scores show that the i7-14700K scores 14965 in CPU-Z’s multithreaded test and 905 in the single-core test. In the Cinebench R23 test, it achieves scores of 2192 and 36296 in single-core and multi-core testing, respectively.

Although the peak frequency improvement might not meet everyone’s expectations, the i7-14700K offers an impressive boost in multi-core performance. With both processors using eight performance cores and eight efficiency cores, the i7-14700K shows a 3.8% improvement in single-core and an 18.2% improvement in multi-core performance in the CPU-Z test, compared to the i7-13700K. Meanwhile, in the Cinebench R23 test, it shows a 4.2% improvement in single-core and a 16.9% improvement in multi-core performance.

In a comprehensive view, the forthcoming Raptor Lake series Intel Core i7-14700K exhibits a remarkable improvement in multi-core performance compared to the i7-13700K, while the single-core performance improvement is somewhat negligible, only showing a 4% increase. Unfortunately, it remains unclear whether this is the final version of the Intel Core i7-14700K processor, as well as the compatibility of this processor with existing motherboards.
