According to Liliputing, SB Components’ new product, the LapPi 2.0, is now crowdfunding on Kickstarter. This is a modular, DIY, single-board computer-centric notebook kit.
This kit consists of the following parts: the shell is composed of 13 acrylic panels, five colors are optional; the 7-inch 1024×600 resolution LCD touch screen; 8-megapixel
Raspberry Pi NoIR camera; mini wireless keyboard with touchpad, self-contained battery, which can be detached from the host; dual speakers; power supply board, which can use two batteries or USB to power the computer, and has a 0.91-inch micro-display to provide power information; and various types of connecting cables.
In addition to kits, SB Components also sells assembled versions, but for the LapPi 2.0 target group, spending time assembling and debugging is obviously part of the fun. SB Components said that this kit is not only for Raspberry Pi, but all single-board computers are compatible with it, including Banana Pi, Rock Pi, and ASUS Tinker.
