Khadas Mind is a mini computer that supports multiple docks with different functions
The category of mini computers perennially conjures up a cornucopia of creative manifestations, of which the Khadas Mind is a paragon, particularly laudable for its innovative design. According to reports from Liliputing and CNX Software, the computer’s appeal does not lie in its specifications, but rather in its superb expandability.
This device, with dimensions of 146 x 105 x 20mm and a weight of 450 grams, could be described as strikingly sleek. It boasts a PCIe 5.0 port designed at its base. Through this interface, Khadas Mind can connect to various expansion docks, thus achieving a wide array of functionalities.
The expansion dock known as Mind Dock primarily enhances the device’s I/O interfaces, furnishing it with two HDMI 2.0 ports, two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, a 2.5GbE network port, a 3.5mm audio interface, and an SD card reader each, alongside a USB-C port for power supply. This dock also houses an inbuilt speaker.
The Mind Graphics expansion dock, considerably larger, features I/O interfaces consistent with those of the Mind Dock. As suggested by its name, the dock’s centerpiece is the integrated RTX 4060M graphics card (indeed, as described on the Khadas Mind official website, I believe it to be the RTX 4060 Laptop GPU).
The final expansion dock, intriguingly named Mine xPlay, is equipped with a touchscreen and a keyboard, capable of transforming the Khadas Mind into a two-in-one laptop. Additionally, there is a dock named Mind Talk, incorporating a microphone array, suitable for VoIP meetings.
As for the inherent configuration of the Khadas Mind, it employs a Core i7-1360P processor, 32GB of LPDDR5-5200 memory, and two M.2 2230 slots (1x PCIe 4 + 1x PCIe 3 spec), supporting up to 4TB of storage. It also incorporates a 5.55Wh battery, which, as stated by the company, is intended for standby mode, supporting up to five hours of standby time. This enables users to relocate the device without shutting down, such as transferring it from home to the office.
Overall, the Khadas Mind is indeed a fascinating prospect, though the release dates and prices for the main unit and expansion docks remain undisclosed. Interested customers may subscribe to the latest updates by submitting their email addresses on the official website.
