KB4501375 cumulative update for Windows 10 Version 1903 causes Sandbox to fail
Among the Windows 10 Version 1903 feature updates, the most noteworthy of the many new features is the Windows Sandbox. Windows Sandbox is a secure environment for running applications independently, only for the Professional and Enterprise editions of Windows 10, and you can’t run Sandbox on Windows 10 Home devices. Other Sandbox requirements include virtualization support, 4GB RAM, 1GB of free disk space and AMD 64 architecture. This feature to help the user for running untrusted applications in an isolated environment without long-term impact on the device.
Unfortunately, the non-security cumulative update that Microsoft released at the end of this month caused the Windows Sandbox to not work properly. On June 27th, Microsoft released a KB4501375 cumulative update for Windows 10 Version 1903, fixed the Night Light issue, improved IE browser and more. However, there is user feedback that the Sandbox is not working properly after installation, and there is currently no temporary solution. Microsoft wrote in the update log:
“Windows Sandbox may fail to start with “ERROR_FILE_NOT_FOUND (0x80070002)” on devices in which the operating system language is changed during the update process when installing Windows 10, version 1903.”
