According to previous news, Intel’s upcoming 11-generation Rocket Lake-S architecture desktop processor will not include the i3 processor, but Intel will not give up the i3 series brand built with a lot of money.
Recently, a hardware retailer in Malaysia posted a photo online showing the newly arrived Intel Core i3-10105F processor. According to previous revelations, this processor is built with a 14nm process and uses Comet Lake Refresh. In addition, there will be Core i3-10100F and Intel Core i3-10105F processors at the same time.
At present, the data of the Core i3-10105 processor has appeared in the Geekbench database. From the data, it can be seen that this processor uses 4 cores and 8 threads, the base frequency is 3.69GHz, and the core frequency is 4.39GHz, almost 100 MHz higher than the Core i3-10100 base frequency.
Because of the Comet Lake Refresh architecture, the interface is still LGA 1200, so there is no need to worry about motherboard compatibility. The L1 cache of this processor is 32KB, L2 is 256KB, and L3 is 6MB.
Coincidentally,
AMD Ryzen 5000 series desktop processors also do not have the 3 series for the market, and directly start from the 5 series. It is bold to speculate here that Intel and AMD seem to be facing 10nm and 7nm production capacity issues. Intel directly abandoned the production of 10nm i3 processors in order to shift production capacity to higher-end processors with higher profits.
