AMD launches RYZEN 5000 series processors
At the International Consumer Electronics Show, AMD announced the launch of RYZEN 5000 series processors for notebook computers. These processors are based on the 7nm Zen 3 architecture.
These processors include 4 cores with 8 threads, 6 cores with 12 threads, and 8 cores with 16 threads. AMD also said that this series is the only x86 chip for ultra-thin notebooks.
The RYZEN 5000-U series processor is launched for thin and light notebooks. It has 8 cores and 16 threads but the power consumption is only 15W, suitable for thin and light notebooks and improves battery life.
For example, the RYZEN 5000U series processor has a 16% increase in single-thread performance and a 14% increase in multi-thread performance compared with previous generation products, providing up to 21 hours of battery life.
