Intel wants winners to replace Xe-HPG Scavenger Hunt prizes with Core CPUs instead of Arc GPU
Intel launched an event called Xe-HPG Scavenger Hunt on March 26 last year to promote the upcoming Xe-HPG architecture GPU. Intel will announce a topic at regular intervals, and these questions will have corresponding clues, which can be found in the information released on the official social platform. The Grand Prize (100) and First Prize (200) will receive “Arc Premium” and “Arc Performance” graphics cards.
Some time ago, Intel has announced the list of winners, and confirmed that the “Arc Premium” and “Arc Performance” graphics cards are ARC A770 and ARC A750 respectively. Although the list of winners has been announced for some time, Intel has not sent these graphics cards, which is probably related to the delay of the ARC A7 series.
According to VideoCardz, Intel is now offering winners another option, sending them an email asking if they choose to replace the ARC A770 and ARC A750 graphics cards with the Core i7-12700K and Core i5-12600K. The choice needs to be made by August 19. Winners can choose a graphics card, though Intel didn’t say exactly when.
There is not a lot of news about Intel ARC graphics cards recently, but most of them are relatively negative. The most troubling point is the product delay, which Intel is talking about “later this summer,” and it’s not known if it can still materialize. In the second quarter 2022 earnings conference call, Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger said that the ARC A5 and A7 series desktop graphics cards will be launched in the third quarter, but did not mention a specific date.
