Intel Rapid Storage Technology drivers may cause updating to Windows 10, version 1903 to fail
Microsoft has just added a new known compatibility issue in the Windows 10 status log page, which is related to the Intel Rapid Storage Technology. In view of this, Microsoft has temporarily blocked the installation of this driver for Windows 10 Version 1903 until the issue is completely fixed. Of course, affected users can also try to install new or old versions to continue to use. At present, Microsoft has found that individual versions are compatible.
Microsoft claims that Intel Rapid Storage Technology drivers v15.1.0.1002 and v15.5.2.1053 are not compatible with Windows 10 Version 1903. Affected by this, Microsoft has prevented users who install the above version of the driver from trying to upgrade unless the user resolves the driver compatibility issue before preparing for the upgrade.
The unaffected version is also compatible with Windows 10 version 1903 is v15.9.6.1044. If users install this driver, they can continue to try to upgrade. Need to be reminded that Windows Server 2019 Version 1903 version is also affected by this problem, it is best to check the problem before deploying. This compatibility issue caused Intel’s fast storage technology to fail to work properly, so Microsoft directly prohibited affected users from actively upgrading on the server-side.
However, if the user burns the image through the media creation tool or overwrites the upgrade, the compatibility issue cannot be checked, so the user will not see such a reminder when installing. Therefore, Microsoft also recommends that you try not to use the image file to upgrade directly, so as to avoid bypassing Microsoft’s compatibility detection mechanism and causing system problems.
Microsoft said that users should upgrade the driver to v15.5.2.1054 or higher, and find out if there is a new version on the device manufacturer’s website.
