Intel NUC 12 Serpent Canyon specs leaked

Recently, Intel’s new generation of NUC 12 Enthusiast codenamed Serpent Canyon was exposed. It is powered by 12th Gen Core and Arc A770M graphics cards to replace the previous Phantom Canyon built on 11th Gen Core and Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 graphics cards. Recently, FanlessTech revealed more detailed information about the NUC 12 Enthusiast.

The Intel NUC 12 Enthusiast will offer two processor options, Core i7-12700H and Core i5-12500H, both based on Alder Lake-P with a TDP of 45W. The first option is equipped with 6 P-Cores and 8 E-Cores, with 14 cores and 20 threads, with a clock of 2.7 GHz and a boost clock of 4.7 GHz. The second option is equipped with 4 P-Cores and 8 E-Cores, with 12 cores and 16 threads, a clock of 2.5 GHz, and a boost clock of 4.5 GHz. In terms of the graphics card, NUC 12 Enthusiast provides three options, the corresponding video memory is 16GB, 12GB, and 8GB, but the leaked information does not provide specific GPU models. The three GPUs are speculated to be Arc A770M, Arc A730M, and Arc A550M, all based on the ACM-G10 chip.

Serpent Canyon is likely to be the first NUC to support DisplayPort 2.0 and is currently only seen on the Arc A380 on the desktop platform. Unfortunately, due to the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic on the promotion of DisplayPort 2.0, there is still no display equipped with DisplayPort 2.0 on the market.

This time, the NUC 12 Enthusiast still uses DDR4, does not support DDR5, and provides two SO-DIMM modules that support 3200 MT/s. In addition, the NUC 12 Enthusiast will also use Intel’s AX1690 WiFi-6E network card, which is based on the AX411 NIC released late last year but has somehow not made its way to mainstream notebook platforms.

Intel has not yet confirmed the release time of NUC 12 Enthusiast, and it is estimated that it is related to the timetable of the ARC graphics card.
