Intel may release the 13th generation Core mobile processor this year
Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger said on the company’s earnings call with financial analysts and investors that it aims to launch Raptor Lake mobile series products by the end of the year, rather than waiting until CES 2023 early next year.
Recently, Twitter user @momomo_us revealed that the first batch of 13th-generation Core mobile processors will have at least four products. Among them, Core i9-13900HK and Core i7-13700H both have 14 cores and 20 threads, consisting of 6 P-Cores and 8 E-Cores. The iGPU will be equipped with 96 EUs. Positioned in the high-end market, the frequency will exceed the existing 12th-generation Core mobile models. It is rumored that the two processors can reach up to 5.4GHz and 5GHz respectively. The configuration of Core i7-13620H and Core i5-13420H is not yet clear, but their positioning is relatively closer to mainstream players.
In the past few years, manufacturers have chosen to release mobile platform products at the CES show at the beginning of each year, with new processors and new mobile graphics cards. In addition to choosing to combine with the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 series mobile version or the AMD Radeon RX 7000 series mobile version next year, Intel may also partner with its own ARC mobile graphics cards to enrich the product line.
In addition, Intel also plans to launch a new HX series processor on the mobile platform, which will use the Raptor Lake-S chip on the desktop platform, which means that it can have up to 8 P-Cores and 16 E-Cores. However, the specific specifications have not yet been confirmed, and this flagship mobile processor will be unveiled in May next year to replace the existing 12th-generation Core HX series.
