Intel Iris Xe series discrete graphics do not support AMD platforms and older systems

Intel recently announced the launch of the Intel Iris Xe series of discrete graphics cards. Although Intel said that the introduction of discrete graphics is not to compete with Nvidia and AMD, Intel hopes to provide gamers with powerful graphics.

However, it should be noted that Intel’s discrete graphics cards are not very good in terms of compatibility. To be precise, Intel restricted the use of these discrete graphics cards on old platforms.

According to Intel’s official description provided, the Intel Iris Xe series graphics card supports only Intel 9th generation and subsequent release of the new desktop processors.

The chipset only supports pairing with Intel B460, H410, B365, and H310C series chipsets, and other chipsets and platforms cannot support it.

The company stated that it only supports these chipsets because these chipsets provide the special BIOS required for Intel Iris Xe discrete graphics cards and other chipsets do not.

This means that if you want to use Intel Iris Xe on the AMD platform, it is not possible, after all, Intel has limited support for their own processors.

It needs to be emphasized that which processors or platforms these discrete graphics cards support have no impact on consumers because Intel is not ready to sell graphics cards to consumers.
